AI consultant for Sydney businesses
Sydney isn't short of AI advice. The big consultancies are here, the software vendors are here, and every second LinkedIn post is about agents. What's harder to find is someone who'll sit with a 50 to 500 person business, look at how the work actually gets done, and help get one or two useful things running properly.
I'm Sam Thompson, and that's what I do through Attua. I'm based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. I work in person in Sydney as often as you need me there, and everything else happens remotely.
How I work with Sydney businesses
In person for the parts that matter. Leadership workshops, team training days and the first walk-through of your processes are better face to face. I come to your office, whether that's in the CBD, North Sydney, Parramatta or out at Macquarie Park. I'm in Sydney as often as your project needs, and travel is charged at cost from Brisbane.
Remote for the rest. Setup, testing and follow-up sessions run over video. Most of my clients are used to this split and it keeps the fee down.
Mind the hour. From October to April, Sydney is on daylight saving and Queensland isn't, so your 9am is my 8am. I schedule around your calendar, not mine. The rest of the year we're on the same clock.
One person, start to finish. In a city full of big teams, you'll deal with me the whole way. The person on the first call is the one running your workshop and setting up your tools.
The Sydney businesses I'm built for
Professional services firms. Accounting, legal, engineering, recruitment and advisory firms across the CBD and North Sydney, where proposals, document review and client follow-up eat the week. These teams often already pay for Microsoft 365 Copilot or ChatGPT and want them to earn their keep.
Western Sydney operators. Businesses around Parramatta and the west, in logistics, trades, construction and healthcare, growing quickly with admin that hasn't kept up. Quoting, scheduling, compliance paperwork and reporting are usually the first wins.
Multi-site hospitality and retail. Groups with venues across the inner west, the eastern suburbs and the northern beaches. When one workflow rolls out to every site, the payoff multiplies. See AI for hospitality and multi-site businesses.
Media, creative and marketing teams. Sydney is home to most of the country's broadcasters and agencies. I'll help you find where AI fits creative workflows without flattening the work.
Not-for-profits and churches. Organisations with small teams serving big communities across Greater Sydney.
Common first projects in Sydney
- Copilot or ChatGPT licences nobody uses. Short role-based AI training and a handful of ready-made workflows for each team, so the licences you already pay for start saving time.
- The board wants an AI position. A focused AI strategy: what to do first, what to leave alone, what it costs, and the guardrails, in a form your leadership team can stand behind.
- One process everyone hates. Proposals, onboarding, month-end reporting. We scope it, set it up, test it with the people who do it and hand it over. That's AI implementation.
What working together looks like
- Book a call. 30 minutes on what's happening and what you've already tried.
- Working session in your Sydney office. Leadership and the people who do the work, in the same room.
- A clear proposal. Clear scope, with the cost agreed up front.
- Get it running. Strategy, setup and training, with support agreed up front.
Data, privacy and guardrails
We agree up front what data AI tools can use, where it goes and what stays out of scope, in line with the Privacy Act. Business-grade accounts, minimum access, human review for anything customer-facing or financial, and simple usage rules your managers can enforce.
Cost
Every engagement is scoped up front, so you know the cost before we start. Read the AI consulting cost guide.
